Art Deco Media Room
A multifunctional seafront media room balancing cinematic performance with elegant everyday living.
For this lifelong film enthusiast, creating a dedicated space for cinema had been a dream years in the making. Located in a beautiful seafront home, the brief was to create a multifunctional living area that could transition from a relaxed communal space into a high-performance home theatre at the touch of a button.
We worked in close partnership with the client throughout the project. While they took the lead on the interior finishes—carefully selecting the carpets, textures, and seating—we focused on the technical architecture. To preserve the character of the property and minimise disruption, we implemented a discreet drop-down projection screen and routed all cabling through existing floor voids. This "light-touch" installation avoided invasive building work while allowing for the use of elegant, freestanding speakers.
To ensure the technology complemented the room’s aesthetic, we provided a bespoke custom cabinet designed to house all the AV equipment out of sight. The result is a sophisticated space that offers superb musical clarity for daily living and deeply immersive 4K visuals for movie nights. This project perfectly illustrates how a dream setup can be integrated into the heart of a home without compromising its primary purpose.
