Henry’s Bar: The Exchange
A dynamic commercial AV installation built for immersive sports viewing and nightlife entertainment.
Housed within "The Exchange"—a landmark building with deep historical significance, famously hosting Winston Churchill just before D-Day—Henry’s Sports Bar represents a complex integration of heritage restoration and cutting-edge commercial technology. Working in close coordination with the building contractors, BRITCON, we designed and installed a robust, multi-zone AV solution that supports the venue’s transition from a refined daytime destination to a high-energy evening venue.
At the heart of the venue is a centralised video matrix system, allowing four independent Sky boxes to be routed to any of the venue's displays with total flexibility. The main bar area features a commercial-grade Yamaha audio system capable of delivering subtle background music or "club-level" performance for events, complemented by six large-format screens and integrated pixel lighting that can be themed for specific game days or private functions.
The venue's versatility continues across multiple specialised zones. A dedicated back room features a 98-inch display protected by a custom security enclosure for the pool area, while the private hire suite offers a premium experience with Sonance Professional speakers, a high-impact James PowerPipe subwoofer, and a PS5-ready 86-inch screen. For the beer garden, we engineered an all-weather solution featuring an 86-inch high-brightness TV housed in a climate-controlled security enclosure, alongside a weatherproof Sonance audio array.
System management is handled via an intuitive behind-the-bar touchscreen, allowing staff to effortlessly control source routing and volume across all zones. At the core, a Yamaha MTX3 processor manages automated volume scheduling—ensuring total compliance with local authority noise restrictions while protecting the long-term reliability of the amplifiers and speakers.
