St. Andrew's Children's Hospice
A meaningful hospice cinema project designed to bring immersive entertainment to children and families.
We were incredibly honoured to collaborate with Together for Cinema, a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating professional cinema rooms for children’s hospices across the UK. This project involved transforming a former storage area at St. Andrew’s Children’s Hospice into a safe, accessible, and fully immersive cinema—offering children and their families a much-needed space for joy and relaxation.
Sonic Vision managed the project from inception to completion. Our team handled the AV system design, oversaw the necessary building works, and carried out the final installation and calibration. The design was specifically tailored to the hospice’s needs, prioritising accessibility and comfort while ensuring the technology remained simple and intuitive for staff and families to operate.
To create an exceptional environment, we utilised CNC-machined acoustic panels featuring custom-printed movie artwork, paired with Monitor Audio speakers with matching grilles. A dropped ceiling was installed to hide all cabling and house height speakers for a truly immersive surround-sound experience. The addition of a twinkling star ceiling and RGBW lighting completed the transformation, turning a functional room into a magical cinematic sanctuary.
This project was made possible by the incredible generosity of our industry partners, who donated the equipment required to bring this vision to life. We are proud to have played our part in such a meaningful installation and look forward to continuing our support for Together for Cinema.
“We couldn’t have had any better support from Stan and Ben, who have been totally dedicated to achieving our vision. A huge thank you, we will enjoy many wonderful moments in our amazing cinema.” Michelle
